Dear Newton community members:
The Newton official website was updated at 12:00 on July 3, 2018 GMT. The latest version is website 1.0.2. The updated content of the website is now announced as follows:
New features:
1. When the users fill out the KYC information, we added an instruction to explain and remind the importance of binding Google Authenticator, i.e. “Google Authenticator is a dynamic password authentication tool, which generates the verification code every 30 seconds to provide security for your account”.
2 In the second step of binding the Google Authenticator process, we added three tips to remind users the importance of safekeeping their key, i.e.:
2.1 “This QR code and key are important personal information. Please keep it safe and confidential. Don’t share it with others.”
2.2 “Please keep your QR code and key safe and confidential. If your phone is lost, you can use this QR code and key to recover your Google Authenticator.”
2.3 “After the Google Authenticator is successfully installed, unless it is necessary, do not arbitrarily delete so as to avoid inconvenience to your login.”
Fixed bug:
The known bug that the login status automatically exits after switching from the user’s personal center to the official website has been fixed.
Improvements based on community feedbacks:
1. When users fill out the KYC information, in addition to the red “*” mark representing the required input fields, we have added the text description “Required” to remind users.
2. The order of information filling sections in KYC page has been adjusted: The “Emergency Contact” section is below the “Basic Information” section now.
3. We have adjusted the required filling fields and optional filling fields in KYC page:
In the personal registration channel, the “Emergency Contact” section has been changed to optional field, “Self introduction” and “How to contribute” are all changed to optional; In the institutional registration channel, the sections of social media account and the willingness and plans to become the Newton community node are all changed into optional filling fields. The remaining parts are still required filling fields.
4. After users submitted registration information, the prompt is changed from “Submitted KYC information successfully! We will send you reviewing results by email in a few days” into “KYC information was successfully submitted! We will check and verify your information in batches. It may take some time so please be patient and wait for our feedback. The feedback will be notified by email. Please check your mail on time.”
5. We have deleted the tips that “This is an important criterion for Newton KYC evaluation, please fill in carefully” under the “How to contribute” section in KYC page.
6. We canceled the website function of email subscription.
Since the launch of the Newton KYC system, we have received lots of feedback from community members during their registration process. We value these suggestions and make improvements immediately. Newton is grateful to community users for your supports and feedback to us, and we look forward to working with Newton community members and users to continually improve Newton project.
